Travis Alexander’s autopsy photos . Jodi Arias was convicted of first-degree murder in the slaying of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in Arizona, USA, on June 4, 2008. She said they had sex, took photos in the shower and were attacked by masked intruders — however, authorities didn’t believe her narrative and charged her with first-degree murder. Prosecutor Juan Martinez came out swinging in his closing arguments in the Jodi Arias murder trial, calling Arias a liar and showing photos so graphic they reduced the sister of slain. Her murder trial began in January 2013 and lasted about five months, featuring 18 days of testimony in which Arias described for jurors an abusive childhood, cheating boyfriends, dead-end jobs, a twisted sexual relationship with Alexander, and her contention that he was physically abusive.
